Epidural injections are often used to treat radicular pain, also called sciatica , which is pain that radiates from the site of a pinched nerve in the low back to the area of the body aligned with that nerve, such as the back of the leg or into the foot. Inflammatory chemicals (. substance P, PLA2, arachidonic acid, TNF-α, IL-1, and prostaglandin E2) and immunologic mediators can generate pain and are associated with common back problems such as lumbar disc herniation or facet joint arthritis . These conditions, as well as many others, provoke inflammation that in turn can cause significant nerve root irritation and swelling.
As a user I can't agree more myself. Steroids only changed my life for the positive. I've had little to no side effects by researching and dosing properly. It has helped take me from a lump of fat to a much better looking body. It has increased my sex drive and given me much more confidence. I have not gotten crazy aggressive or any of the other things the sunday specials on steroids would say they do. You have to remember that steroids were only made illegal in the early 90's. We have had body builders and power lifters using them religiously since the 1950's AND WE HAVE NO DIRECT CORRELATION TO HARMFUL EFFECTS! Orals have been known to cause problems, but only because they must first pass through the liver and kidneys before they can enter the bloodstream. As far as I know, there isn't even any circumstantial evidence to prove that injectables are harmful. The risk/reward ratio is actually much lower than the government wishes us to perceive it.
